PM Narendra Modi on Friday announced a high-powered national mission to tackle illegal immigration, warning that a ‘well-planned conspiracy’ is altering India’s demography and posing a serious threat to national security.
PM Flags Demographic Threat from Red Fort
Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on Independence Day, PM Modi cautioned citizens about the dangers of unchecked illegal immigration.
“Under a well-thought-out conspiracy, the country’s demography is being changed, and seeds of a new crisis are being sown,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi accused infiltrators of snatching jobs from Indian youth, targeting women, misleading tribal communities, and grabbing their land.
“This will not be tolerated,” he declared.
The Prime Minister highlighted that demographic changes in border regions endanger national security and sow the seeds of conflict.
“No country can surrender before infiltrators. Then how can we?” he asked.
High-Powered Demography Mission Announced
PM Modi pledged to protect the nation’s demographic balance by launching a High-Powered Demography Mission.
“Not to allow such activities is our duty to our ancestors who gifted us an Independent India. We have decided to start a mission to tackle this looming danger,” he said.
The issue of illegal immigration, particularly from Bangladesh, has grown into a pressing concern.
Authorities across India have intensified operations to identify and detain illegal immigrants, many of whom are accused of obtaining fake Indian documents to conceal their identities.
Security agencies are actively monitoring border areas and urban clusters to root out individuals residing in the country without legal authorisation.
