With the Ganesh festival approaching, Adani Electricity has teamed up with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Disaster Management Department to conduct crucial electrical safety training for Ganesh Mandal volunteers across Mumbai.

The partnership aims to boost emergency preparedness and minimise electrical hazards during the celebrations.

Adani Electricity’s safety officers, alongside BMC’s Disaster Management team, are holding a series of First Responder Training Programmes in areas including Khar, Santacruz, Chembur, Dahisar, and Borivali.

During these 30-minute sessions, experts from Adani Electricity provide vital lectures and hands-on guidance to help volunteers handle electrical setups safely.

Key Safety Topics Covered

The training covers a wide range of critical topics, including:

  • Excavation safety
  • Calculating appropriate load requirements
  • Selecting the correct size and class of equipment
  • Using weatherproof electrical materials
  • Applying correctly for distribution company connections
  • Temporary electrical setup guidelines
  • Safety precautions in wet or rainy conditions
  • Safe wiring practices
  • Emergency protocols and illumination safety for public areas

Adani Electricity’s Commitment to Safety

“We are deeply committed to fostering a culture of safety and are pleased to work with the BMC Disaster Management Department on this vital initiative,” said a representative from Adani Electricity. “Our goal is to empower Ganesh Mandal volunteers with the knowledge and best practices to manage electrical setups securely, ensuring a joyous and incident-free festival.”

Sameer Pawar, representing Kurlacha Maharaja Ganesh Mandal, Kurla West, expressed gratitude for the initiative.

“This training is incredibly valuable. With so many temporary electrical installations during the festival, understanding the right procedures is essential. We thank BMC and Adani Electricity for providing this vital knowledge,” Pawar noted.

Both Adani Electricity and the BMC Disaster Management Department are urging all Ganesh Mandals to take part in the sessions to ensure a safe and successful festival for devotees.
