Comedian Kapil Sharma’s business, Kap’s Café, has once again been attacked in a shooting, marking the second such incident in less than a month, according to local media.
The incident has intensified concerns over rising extortion threats and gun violence in the region.
Located at 85 Avenue and Scott Road, the café was struck by at least six bullets early Thursday morning. Police reached the scene shortly after the attack and began investigations. Windows were shattered, and glass littered the ground. The motive remains unknown.
The gunfire shook nearby residents. Bob Singh, who lives close to the café, told CityNews 1130, “I saw it from my patio. I heard shots fired, like five or six shots, and then the cops came.”
Another resident, Michelle Gaucher, said, “At 4:35 AM, we were woken up to eight gunshots — it was not fireworks. Then I heard sirens. It was the same distance away from where that Kap’s Café was shot up a couple of weeks ago.”
This shooting comes just weeks after the first incident in early July, when shots were fired while staff members were present inside the café. No one was injured, and police have made no arrests in either case.
Authorities had not established a motive for the earlier attack either.
The repeated Kap’s Café shooting has raised questions about public safety and potential threats to local businesses in Surrey.
