Ranchi’s streets have a new sensation, and it comes with the unmistakable roar of a customised Hummer H2.
The SUV belongs to none other than former India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and now sports a striking military design that has taken social media by storm.
Originally acquired in 2009 from American automaker General Motors, Dhoni’s Hummer has long been a fan favourite.
Now, 15 years later, Dhoni has transformed the vehicle into a moving tribute to the Indian Army, an institution he deeply admires and actively engages with.
The vehicle’s new look includes powerful imagery—fighter helicopters, tanks, aircraft, and battle-ready soldiers—expertly airbrushed onto the Hummer’s exterior.
The customisation was executed by a local car detailing studio in Ranchi, whose founder, Achyut Kishore, confirmed that the design was Dhoni’s personal request.
A tribute to the armed forces
Dhoni’s admiration for the Indian military is no secret. He holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, an honour conferred upon him in 2011.
He has trained with the Para Regiment and even completed parachute jumps, further solidifying his respect for the defence services.
This isn’t the first time Dhoni has showcased his military pride.
During the 2019 ICC World Cup, he famously wore gloves featuring the ‘Balidaan Badge’—the emblem of the Para Special Forces—drawing attention and appreciation from fans and soldiers alike.
An avid collector of automobiles, Dhoni’s garage is nothing short of impressive. Among his prized possessions are the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, and the classic Nissan Jonga.
Yet, the Hummer H2 has always stood out as a symbol of his rugged style and personality, now enhanced further by its military avatar.
Dhoni recently added to his ever-growing fleet by driving the Citroën Basalt Dark Edition SUV through the streets of Ranchi.
As the brand ambassador for Citroën India, his appearance in the newly launched model has already garnered attention from fans and automobile enthusiasts.
With his military-themed Hummer grabbing headlines and going viral, MS Dhoni once again proves his knack for blending patriotism, personal passion, and sheer style, all while keeping his roots in Ranchi alive.
