Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth across India during the 16th Rozgar Mela on July 12.
The event will take place via video conferencing and will span 47 locations across the country, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The Rozgar Mela, launched in October 2022, forms a key part of PM Modi’s mission-mode approach to fast-track employment generation across India.
This milestone event aims to boost youth empowerment, enhance government service delivery, and support the country’s broader development goals by strengthening the workforce in various departments.
The new appointees, selected from across the nation, will join several Central government ministries and departments.
These include the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Posts, the Ministry of Labour and Employment, and the Department of Financial Services, among others.
These placements will enhance operational efficiency in education, healthcare, security, and public administration, while directly filling long-standing vacancies in key government services.
Boosting efficiency in public services
The Rozgar Melas have already proven successful in expediting recruitment and improving services in critical public-facing sectors, including hospitals, police stations, tax offices, and railway services.
The government’s focus on timely recruitment has helped ensure that essential roles do not remain vacant, thereby reducing service delivery delays and improving citizen engagement.
The government has already distributed over 10 lakh appointment letters through previous Rozgar Melas, establishing the initiative as one of the largest recruitment drives in recent history.
The initiative aligns with the Prime Minister’s commitment to give top priority to job creation, particularly for the youth, as part of a broader push for inclusive national development.
PM Modi will also deliver an address to the new recruits during the event, encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to public service and national progress.
The Rozgar Mela remains a symbol of the government’s resolve to build a stronger, more capable India by empowering its young workforce through timely employment and opportunities for nation-building.
