Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML) has intensified its fight against power theft in FY 2024–25, registering 1,166 First Information Reports (FIRs) — a 20% increase over the 974 cases recorded in FY 2023–24.
The company’s strong enforcement drive has contributed to a significant 0.77% drop in Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses, bringing them down from 5.47% to 4.70% — among the lowest nationwide for a power distribution company of its scale.
A company spokesperson stated, “Power theft unfairly burdens paying customers. By cracking down on illegal activity, we are protecting our consumers and improving system efficiency. Our vigilance will only intensify this year.”
In FY25, Adani Electricity conducted 37,424 mass raids, a 41% increase compared to 26,628 raids the previous year.
Notably, odd-hour raids — including those during early mornings, late nights, and holidays — rose by 44%, highlighting the company’s proactive approach.
Moreover, Adani Electricity recovered 60.90 tonnes of illegal wires and detected 23.76 million units of stolen electricity, assessing theft worth ₹44.92 crore.
