Varun Dhawan celebrated the 10-year milestone of his 2015 hit ABCD 2 by sharing a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
The actor, who starred alongside Shraddha Kapoor and was directed by choreographer Remo D’Souza, looked back fondly on the film that became a defining moment in Bollywood’s dance genre.
Marking the occasion, Varun posted a lively behind-the-scenes video from the film’s wrap party.
In the clip, Varun Dhawan dances with co-stars Remo D’Souza, Shraddha Kapoor, and Raghav Juyal to the iconic Bollywood track ‘Meri Pant Bhi Sexy’ from the 1994 film Dulaara, which originally featured Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.
“10 years of #ABCD2. #BTS of the wrap party of #ABCD2. So many memories, so much energy and just the most awesome people to work with,” Varun captioned the video.
He further added, “I remember this wrap party so well with all of us just dancing on Hindi masala songs.”
Directed by Remo D’Souza, ABCD 2—short for Any Body Can Dance 2—was a spiritual sequel to the 2013 film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance.
It featured a stellar cast including Prabhu Deva, Sushant Pujari, and Lauren Gottlieb, and was partly based on the real-life journey of Suresh Mukund and Vernon Monteiro, founders of the dance crew ‘The Kings’, who later won the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in San Diego.
The film followed the story of childhood friends Suresh and Vinnie, who formed a dance group with dreams of competing in Las Vegas.
Despite challenges and setbacks, their determination saw them rise to international recognition, with dance serving as both their passion and path to redemption.
What’s next for Varun
While celebrating the past, Varun Dhawan is also focused on the future.
He is currently shooting for Border 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 1997 war classic Border.
Varun Dhawan is currently shooting the third leg of Border 2 at Pune’s National Defence Academy, alongside co-stars Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Sunny Deol.
Director Anurag Singh is helming the film, while producers Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta are backing the project.
Gulshan Kumar’s T-Series, in association with JP Dutta’s JP Films, is presenting the film, which draws inspiration from the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan.
The makers have scheduled its theatrical release for 23 January 2026.
As fans revisit ABCD 2, Varun Dhawan’s journey from high-energy dance films to patriotic war dramas showcases his evolving range and continued love for cinema.
