PM Modi Embarks On Development Focused Tour Across Three States

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced a significant two-day visit across Bihar, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, starting Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarks on a two-day visit to Bihar, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh beginning Friday, 20 June.

During this tour, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects and participate in events spanning infrastructure, welfare, and public health, including the International Day of Yoga celebrations.

PM Modi will visit Siwan in Bihar, where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate key development initiatives.

These include the Vaishali–Deoria railway line project worth over ₹400 crore, along with the launch of a new train service on the route.

He will also flag off the Patliputra-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express to enhance connectivity in North Bihar.

In a significant Make in India milestone, the Prime Minister will flag off India’s first export locomotive, manufactured at the Marhowra Plant for the Republic of Guinea.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate six Sewage Treatment Plants under the Namami Gange programme and will lay the foundation stone for water, sanitation, and STP projects worth over ₹3,000 crore in towns across Bihar.

He will also launch a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), to be installed across 15 grid substations, including those in Muzaffarpur, Motihari and Siwan.

As part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), PM Modi will release the first instalment to over 53,600 beneficiaries and will hand over house keys to some of the 6,600 completed homes as part of a symbolic Grih Pravesh ceremony.

Odisha leg of the visit

In the second leg of his tour, PM Modi will visit Bhubaneswar, Odisha, to chair the state-level event marking one year of the Odisha government.

He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects totalling over ₹18,600 crore across key sectors such as drinking water, health, agriculture, rural infrastructure, highways, and railways.

Prime Minister Modi will also flag off new train services extending connectivity to the Boudh district for the first time.

To boost eco-friendly urban mobility, he will launch 100 electric buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) system.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will unveil the Odisha Vision Document, aimed at guiding the state’s progress towards 2047.

He will also launch the ‘Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana’, a cultural initiative to convert the birthplaces of iconic Odias into heritage sites.

He will further felicitate over 16.5 lakh Lakhpati Didis—women achievers empowered through self-help groups—celebrating their success as symbols of prosperity and self-reliance.

On 21 June, PM Modi will visit Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where he will lead the International Yoga Day celebrations on the beachfront, joining an estimated five lakh participants.

The theme this year is ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, reinforcing India’s vision of holistic global wellness. Simultaneously, over 3.5 lakh yoga events will take place across India.

Since 2015, PM Modi has led International Yoga Day from various iconic locations, including the UN Headquarters in New York and Srinagar, strengthening India’s global leadership in wellness and cultural diplomacy.
