Businessman Sunjay Kapur, the former husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, has reportedly passed away. The news was shared by his friend, businessman and author Suhel Seth, on social media.
Taking on X on Thursday, Suhel Seth posted, “Deeply saddened at the passing of @sunjaykapur: he passed away earlier today in England: a terrible loss and deepest condolences to his family and to his colleagues @sonacomstar…Om Shanti”

Reports indicate that Sunjay Kapur died of a heart attack.
A known industrialist, he served as the CEO of Sixt India. He was previously married to actress Karisma Kapoor, with whom he had two children, daughter Samaira and son Kiaan.
The couple tied the knot on 29 September 2003 in a grand Sikh wedding at Karisma’s family home, Krishna Raj Bungalow, in Mumbai.
They filed for divorce by mutual consent in 2014 but withdrew the application in 2015. Their divorce was eventually finalised in 2016.
Before marrying Sunjay, Karisma Kapoor was briefly engaged to actor Abhishek Bachchan in 2002, but the engagement ended within months, with no public explanation provided.
In 2016, Karisma filed a domestic violence case against Sunjay Kapur and his mother. She accused them of physical abuse and alleged that Sunjay was involved with another woman.
She also filed a dowry harassment complaint, prompting a summons from Mumbai police.
The couple was already engaged in a contentious legal battle over divorce and child custody at the time.
Following the end of his marriage to Karisma, Sunjay Kapur went on to marry Priya Sachdev.
