In a scathing attack following ‘Operation Sindoor’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Pakistan of openly supporting terrorism by awarding state honours to terrorists under Pakistan’s official military protocol.
He asserted that Pakistani military officials draped their national flag over the coffins of slain terrorists and saluted them, thereby proving that these acts were part of a deliberate war strategy and not isolated incidents.
PM Modi rejected the term ‘proxy war’ and declared that Pakistan had openly honoured the terrorists killed after 6 May by wrapping their coffins in national flags and having their military salute them.
He exposed this act as part of Pakistan’s official war doctrine and warned that if Pakistan had chosen to engage in war, India would respond accordingly.
A Painful Reminder Of Partition
Revisiting the tragic events of India’s partition in 1947, PM Modi recalled how Pakistan captured a part of Kashmir with the assistance of terrorists.
He criticised the decisions taken at the time and lamented the rejection of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s counsel, which, if followed, might have prevented decades of terrorism in India.
The PM said, “In 1947, Mother India was torn apart. Instead of unshackling chains, we lost limbs. The country was split into three parts, and that very night, the first terrorist attack occurred in Kashmir. Pakistan seized part of our land in the name of Mujahideen.”
The Prime Minister said that eliminating those terrorists back then and heeding Sardar Patel’s advice would have prevented the chain of terrorist attacks that have plagued the nation for the past 75 years.
He asserted that a single thorn can cause agony no matter how healthy the body is, and affirmed the government’s determination to remove that thorn.
Pakistan’s Inability To Win Conventional Wars
Highlighting Pakistan’s military shortcomings, PM Modi noted that the country has lost all direct wars against India, prompting it to resort to indirect methods.
“When war became necessary, India defeated Pakistan all three times. Realising it cannot win through conventional warfare, Pakistan turned to terrorism. They kept attacking us wherever they could, and we kept enduring it,” he added.
PM Modi’s remarks reflect a hardened stance against cross-border terrorism and underline India’s commitment to responding with strength and clarity.
His statement following ‘Operation Sindoor’ not only exposes Pakistan’s state complicity but also signals a broader strategic shift in India’s counter-terrorism posture.
These revelations come as national sentiment runs high against terrorism, with the government actively implementing decisive measures to safeguard the country’s security.
