Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bikaner, Rajasthan, on Thursday and inaugurated a host of major infrastructure and energy projects worth over ₹26,000 crore.
His visit included laying foundation stones and dedicating redeveloped assets under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, strengthening both national connectivity and regional growth.
One of the highlights saw Prime Minister Modi inaugurate 102 redeveloped railway stations across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories, completed at a cost of approximately ₹1,100 crore.
These stations span across states like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
PM Modi also unveiled eight stations in Rajasthan, including Deshnoke, Bundi, and Fatehpur Shekhawati.
PM Modi highlighted how these upgrades are enhancing facilities, accessibility, and reflecting cultural aesthetics.
Global Recognition For India’s Growth
Speaking at a public rally, PM Modi highlighted India’s progress and said, “Even the world is surprised to see the developmental works we are carrying out,” citing milestones such as the Chenab Bridge, Sela Tunnel, Atal Setu, and Pamban Bridge.
The Prime Minister also noted that India’s infrastructure investments are now six times higher than before, underscoring a new era of progress.
PM Modi also flagged off the Bikaner–Mumbai Express Train, visited the Deshnoke station, and laid the foundation for the 58 km Churu–Sadulpur rail line, along with electrification works across several key railway sections.
In the clean energy sector, he inaugurated solar projects, including a 300 MW plant by NEEPCO in Bikaner and a 100 MW SJVN project in Nawa.
Additional solar installations in Didwana and Kuchaman, supported by Powergrid transmission projects, will reinforce India’s renewable energy capacity.
In terms of road infrastructure, PM Modi launched the widening of NH-11 and NH-70, the construction of three vehicular underpasses on NH-58, and dedicated seven national highway projects worth ₹4,850 crore.
These are expected to not only improve civilian connectivity but also support military logistics.
Under the Rajasthan State Highway Development Programme, he initiated the upgradation of 12 state highways covering 757 km, with a further 900 km planned for future enhancement.
Healthcare & Education Boost
The Prime Minister also inaugurated four new nursing colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur, enhancing access to medical education and strengthening healthcare infrastructure.
Additionally, PM Modi launched two 132 kV electrical substations to improve power distribution.
PM Modi began the day with prayers at the sacred Karni Mata Temple, reinforcing his commitment to blending development with cultural heritage.
His visit emphasised the government’s agenda for a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) through modern infrastructure, clean energy, and inclusive growth.
