Union Minister of Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi on Wednesday announced that the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued notices to several major e-commerce platforms, including Amazon India and Flipkart, for selling merchandise featuring Pakistani symbols.
Joshi shared the information in a post on the social media platform.
Taking to X, he posted, “The CCPA has issued notices to @amazonIN, @Flipkart, @UbuyIndia, @Etsy, The Flag Company and The Flag Corporation over the sale of Pakistani flags and related merchandise.”
He further added that such disregard for national sentiment will face no tolerance.
“E-commerce platforms are hereby directed to immediately remove all such content and adhere to National laws,” the post added.

Joshi also cautioned all online sellers to strictly follow Indian legal guidelines while operating in the country.

Last week, the CCPA issued 13 separate notices to top digital marketplaces, including Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho and OLX, over the unauthorised listing and sale of walkie-talkies without the necessary licensing details or Equipment Type Approval (ETA).
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs said sellers failed to clearly state whether these devices required a wireless operating license or met regulatory standards.
A preliminary review uncovered a high number of such listings across e-commerce platforms—approximately 467 on Amazon, 314 on Flipkart, 489 on Meesho, and 423 on TradeIndia—highlighting the scale of the issue.
Union Minister Joshi earlier said the sale of non-compliant wireless devices violates legal requirements and may endanger national security operations.
“All sellers are to strictly adhere to applicable regulatory standards to uphold consumer rights and prevent unlawful trade practices,” he added.
