Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a significant two-day visit covering Maharashtra, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh on 1-2 May, focusing on India’s cultural, technological and infrastructure development.
The visit underlines the Union government’s thrust on the Viksit Bharat initiative and aims to bolster India’s standing in global entertainment and logistics while driving regional progress.
WAVES 2025: Showcasing India’s Creative Power
PM Modi will begin his tour in Mumbai on May 1, where he will inaugurate WAVES 2025- India’s first World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit at Jio World Centre around 10:30 AM.

The event, themed ‘Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries’, will attract over 10,000 delegates, including creators, startups, and policymakers from more than 90 nations.
The four-day summit will spotlight India’s prowess in films, OTT, gaming, animation, AI, and digital media, aiming to transform the country into a $50 billion entertainment economy by 2029.
The Prime Minister will also interact with top creators selected from the ‘Create in India’ challenges and visit the Bharat Pavilion and WAVES Bazaar, a global e-marketplace bringing together over 6,000 buyers and 5,000 sellers.
Major Port Inauguration In Kerala
On May 2, PM Modi will travel to Kerala and at around 10:30 AM, he will dedicate the Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport to the nation.
Located near Thiruvananthapuram, this ₹8,900 crore facility is India’s first container trans-shipment hub.
With a natural depth of 20 metres, the port is expected to reduce dependence on foreign ports and play a strategic role in international shipping.
Developmental Push In Andhra Pradesh
Later that day, at approximately 3:30 PM, the Prime Minister will visit Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects valued at over ₹58,000 crore.
These include:
- Seven National Highway projects enhancing access to sites like Tirupati and Srikalahasti
- Key railway projects including doubling lines and congestion-reducing rail corridors
- Civic infrastructure in Amaravati such as the new Legislative Assembly and High Court
- An urban housing plan benefiting 5,200 families
- A ₹17,400 crore urban infrastructure initiative featuring a 320-km integrated transport network and flood management systems
A roadshow in Amaravati is also expected to draw significant public participation, reflecting popular support for the state’s transformation under the Viksit Bharat mission.
The multi-state visit reinforces PM Modi’s commitment to advancing India’s digital, logistical, and civic infrastructure while strengthening regional economies.
The initiatives unveiled during this tour will make a lasting impact on India’s developmental trajectory, from entertainment to urban planning.
