Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condemned the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, describing the deep anguish he felt and promising that the conspirators would face the ‘harshest response’.
Speaking during the 121st episode of Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister referred to the 22 April attack as a sign of desperation by the patrons of terrorism.
‘Nyaye milke rahega (Justice will be served)’, PM Modi assured, as he spoke about the collective grief and anger felt by citizens across the nation.
The Prime Minister underlined that every Indian, irrespective of state or language, shared the heartbreak and fury at the heinous attack.
Attack On Kashmir’s Progress
PM Modi described the Pahalgam attack as an attempt to disturb the peace and growing prosperity in Kashmir.
The Prime Minister stated that, as normalcy returned to the region, enemies of the nation could not tolerate it.
“Terrorists and their masters want Kashmir to be destroyed again, which is why such a conspiracy was hatched,” PM Modi remarked.
PM Modi further highlighted Kashmir’s growth- rising tourism, incomes, construction, and democracy- and blamed India’s enemies for agitated by it.
“The attack in Pahalgam shows the desperation of the patrons of terrorism; it displays their cowardice,” the Prime Minister added.
National Unity: India’s Greatest Strength Against Terrorism
The Prime Minister urged citizens to strengthen India’s resolve against terrorism, emphasising national unity as the country’s greatest strength.
“In this war against terrorism, the unity of the country, the solidarity of 140 crore Indians, is our biggest strength,” PM Modi asserted, urging all to demonstrate unwavering willpower.
PM Modi also shared that international leaders had conveyed their condolences and condemned the attack.
“After this terrorist attack, condolences are continuously pouring in from all over the world. Global leaders have called me, written letters, and sent messages. They have expressed their support and sympathies with India,” the Prime Minister further said.
In closing, PM Modi reassured the families of the victims that justice would prevail.
“Once again, I assure the victims’ families that they will get justice. The conspirators and perpetrators of this attack will face the harshest response,” Prime Minister Modi concluded.
The Pahalgam attack, which claimed 28 lives, marks one of the deadliest terrorist incidents in the valley since the Pulwama attack of 2019.
