US President Donald Trump held a phone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
Trump denounced the Pahalgam attack and assured full US support to India in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the update on X, posting, “President Donald Trump @realDonaldTrump @POTUS called PM @narendramodi and conveyed his deepest condolences at the loss of innocent lives in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.”
“President Trump strongly condemned the terror attack and expressed full support to India to bring to justice the perpetrators of this heinous attack. India and the United States stand together in the fight against terror,”: the post further added.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also expressed solidarity with India, reposting a message from the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, which condemned the attack and called for accountability.

Taking to X, the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs posted, “The United States strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Kashmir. Nothing can justify such a heinous act killing tourists and civilians. Our thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. We continue to monitor the situation and call for perpetrators to be held accountable.”

US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz called the Pahalgam incident a ‘terrible tragedy’ and urged prayers for the victims and their families.
His remarks came in response to Trump’s earlier post.

Trump Expresses Solidarity With India Over Kashmir Terror Attack In Truth Social Post
On Truth Social, President Trump wrote, “Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi and the incredible people of India have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all!”
Meanwhile, following the attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security meeting with intelligence and security agencies on Tuesday.
He later travelled to Srinagar for an on-ground review.
Shah also briefed Prime Minister Modi about the situation.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah briefed the Union Home Minister about the attack.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and other senior officials were present during the meeting.
Security forces, including the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, have launched a search operation in the Baisran area of Pahalgam in Anantnag district to track down those responsible for the attack.
