India launched its campaign at the Asian U-15 & U-17 Boxing Championships with a powerful statement, as Hardik Dahiya (43kg) and Rudraksh Singh (46kg) secured emphatic victories in the opening round of the tournament.
Held under the aegis of Asian Boxing, and endorsed by both the Olympic Council of Asia and the newly-formed World Boxing, this championship marks a significant milestone for youth boxing in the region.
Strong Opening For Team India
On Day One, Indian boxers set the tone early.
- Hardik Dahiya defeated Kubanychbek Bolushov of Kyrgyzstan with a unanimous 5:0 decision in the 43kg category.
- In the 46kg bout, Rudraksh Singh dominated Ibrakhim Maral of Mongolia, also winning 5:0 on points.
These results reflect the preparedness and competitive edge of India’s young pugilists.
India Fields 56-Member Youth Squad
India has sent a formidable 56-member contingent to the continental event, including 30 U-15 and 26 U-17 boxers.

In the U-15 category, standout names include:
- Ravi Sihag, bronze medallist at the 2024 Asian School Boys Championship in Al Ain.
- Trushna Mohite, reigning sub-junior national girls boxing champion in the 64-67 kg category.
The U-17 squad is equally promising with medal contenders such as:
- Sahil Duhan and Devansh, silver and bronze medallists at the 2024 Asian Junior Championship.
- Tikam Singh, gold medallist at the 2024 SGFI Games.
- Among the girls, Samiksha Singh, Anshika, and Khushi Chand bring valuable international experience from the 2024 Asian School Championships.
Interim Committee Facilitates India’s Participation
The Interim Committee, led by World Boxing, has played a crucial role in ensuring India’s participation in the tournament. By swiftly resolving administrative hurdles, the committee upheld the principles of the Boxing Federation of India, prioritising athlete welfare and access to global platforms.
“Every athlete deserves the opportunity to compete and represent their country,” the committee stated, affirming its commitment to restoring India’s boxing legacy.
