PM Modi Urges Public To Draw Inspiration From C Sankaran Nair
During his speech, the Prime Minister spoke about Nair’s courage in challenging British authority after the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy, where British forces opened fire on peaceful civilians in Amritsar on 13 April 1919.
The incident sparked outrage and intensified the freedom movement.
PM Modi stated, “He could have enjoyed all the luxuries, but inspired by Jallianwalah Bagh, he raised his voice against British atrocities. He was removed from his post. He was from Kerala, and the incident took place in Punjab. Sankaran Nair ensured that the British government was brought to the court of law. He showed what unity and humanity actually mean. We should definitely learn from Sankaran Nair.”
The Prime Minister also called on the public to recognize Nair’s contribution and draw inspiration from his legacy.
“The people of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh should know about Sankaran Nair. Every adult and child should be aware of his contributions. He is a great inspiration,” the Prime Minister asserted.
Akshay Kumar will soon portray Sankaran Nair in ‘Kesari 2’, a sequel centered around the lesser-known heroes of India’s freedom movement.
As part of the film’s promotions, Akshay visited Amritsar on Monday, where he, along with co-stars Ananya Panday and R Madhavan, offered prayers at the Golden Temple.
