Domestic Religious Engagements
On Friday, PM Modi attended the 25th edition of Jahan-e-Khusrau, where he offered early Ramzan wishes and praised India’s Sufi tradition for its inclusive message.
He also noted the significance of unity and peace during this period of reflection and self-discipline.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also conveyed his wishes for Ramzan, highlighting the importance of fasting, self-discipline, and patience as essential virtues during this sacred month.
He stated, “During these sacred days, good deeds such as fasting, self-discipline, patience, and worship foster values of tolerance, simplicity, and mutual brotherhood.”
The Beginning Of Ramadan
On March 2, India officially declared the beginning of Ramadan after sighting the crescent moon.
The first day of fasting was confirmed after weather conditions hindered the moon’s visibility the previous evening.
This announcement marked the start of the sacred month of Ramadan, which will culminate in the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr after 30 days of fasting, prayers, and reflection.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset and engage in special evening prayers known as Tarawih, where the entire Quran is recited throughout the month.
These prayers culminate with the sighting of the Eid moon, marking the end of the fasting period and the beginning of joyous celebrations.
PM Modi’s warm wishes for Ramzan reflect his commitment to promoting peace, unity, and religious harmony in India.
His engagements, coupled with the continued emphasis on inclusive spiritual practices, demonstrate a concerted effort to nurture cultural unity in the country.
This period of fasting and reflection sets a tone of peace and togetherness, paving the way for further national and global cooperation in the upcoming months.
