A historic day unfolded for Sarojini Nagar and all of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, as 41 Sikh devotees from Sarojini Nagar made a pilgrimage to the holy Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara in Pakistan. Their journey, which began with crossing the Attari-Wagah border, culminated in the spiritual fulfillment of a long-held aspiration bowing their heads at the sacred shrine of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Devotees paid homage at the place where Guru Nanak spent the final years of his life, spreading the messages of love, unity, and service to humanity, filling the experience with reverence and emotional significance.
A Dream Realized Through Dedication And Vision
This spiritual pilgrimage became a reality due to the relentless efforts and vision of Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, the MLA from Sarojini Nagar. For years, the Sikh community had longed for the opportunity to visit Kartarpur Sahib, and Dr. Singh worked tirelessly to make this dream come true.

His initiative, known as the ‘Amritsar-Kartarpur Pilgrimage,’ ensured that the devotees of Sarojini Nagar not only visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar but also experienced the spiritual grandeur of Kartarpur Sahib.
Seamless Journey With Dr. Singh’s Support
The group of 41 devotees embarked on their journey on February 24, taking an Indigo flight from Amausi Airport to Amritsar. They were warmly welcomed with drums and trumpets upon arrival.
After a visit to the Golden Temple, the group proceeded to Kartarpur Sahib, with special arrangements made by Dr. Rajeshwar Singh at every stop to ensure the devotees’ comfort.
Volunteers from Dr. Singh’s team were present throughout the journey, helping facilitate a smooth and well-organized pilgrimage.
For many devotees, the visit to Kartarpur Sahib was a deeply emotional experience. Tears of devotion flowed as they stood in reverence at the sacred site where Guru Nanak Dev Ji had spent the last 18 years of his life.
The shrine, which symbolizes the heart of Sikh faith, provided the devotees with spiritual bliss, marking the trip as one of the most memorable and enriching of their lives.
The visit to Kartarpur Sahib also stands as a testament to the vision and respect shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards the Sikh community.
In 2019, Modi’s leadership established the Kartarpur Corridor, allowing Indian devotees to visit Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan without a visa.
People further hailed this initiative as a monumental step in preserving India’s rich religious heritage and culture.
Dr. Rajeshwar Singh: A Symbol of Service and Spiritual Dedication
Dr. Rajeshwar Singh’s role in facilitating this pilgrimage underscores his commitment to the religious and spiritual well-being of his constituency. In addition to organizing this significant journey, Dr. Singh has previously organized 37 Ram Rath Shravan Yatras, bringing thousands of devotees to Ayodhya Dham.
His dedication to his constituency transcends politics, as he sees Sarojini Nagar as a spiritual family, always working to ensure that the people in his care can fulfill their religious and spiritual needs.
The successful completion of this historic journey to Kartarpur Sahib further reflects not only the devotion of the Sikh community but also the strong leadership and service-driven vision of Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, a leader dedicated to enriching the lives of his people both spiritually and culturally.
