In keeping with his earlier statement during his visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela, Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, followed through on his promise to host a simple and traditional wedding for his younger son, Jeet Adani.
The billionaire industrialist not only kept the wedding low-key but also made an extraordinary donation of INR 10,000 crore, channeling the funds toward social causes in line with his deep-rooted philosophy of “Service is devotion, prayer, and the ultimate form of divinity (translated from Hindi).”
A Wedding Rooted in Simplicity and Tradition
The wedding ceremony, held at the Belvedere Club in Ahmedabad’s Adani Shantigram township, was a simple affair. Jeet Adani married Diva Jaimin Shah, the daughter of diamond trader Jaimin Shah.
As per sources, the ceremony adhered to traditional Gujarati customs, with religious rituals conducted in the presence of close family and friends. The absence of high-profile politicians, business leaders, diplomats, and celebrities set the tone for a private and intimate celebration.
In a heartfelt message on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Gautam Adani addressed Diva as “daughter Diva,” further expressing his joy on this momentous occasion.

A Charitable Legacy: INR 10,000 Crore Donation For Social Causes
Gautam Adani’s commitment to social welfare took center stage during the wedding, as he made an unprecedented donation of INR 10,000 crore. A significant portion of this donation will be dedicated to funding infrastructure projects in healthcare, education, and skill development.
The aim is to provide accessible, world-class facilities to all sections of society. The donation will help establish affordable hospitals, medical colleges, K-12 schools, and global skill academies, ensuring that people from all walks of life benefit from these opportunities.
This philanthropic gesture, made on the occasion of his son’s wedding, is in line with Gautam Adani’s long-standing commitment to societal development and welfare.
Gautam Adani’s ‘Mangal Seva’ Initiative: Empowering Divyang Women
In a further demonstration of his commitment to social causes, Gautam Adani announced the ‘Mangal Seva’ program, aimed at supporting newly married women with disabilities (divyang). As part of this initiative, the program will grant financial assistance of INR 10 lakh annually to 500 women. Jeet Adani personally met 21 newly married divyang women and their husbands just two days before the wedding to launch the initiative. Gautam Adani expressed his pride that his son and daughter-in-law were embarking on their new life together with a promise to give back to the community, particularly women with disabilities.
Reaffirming the Simple Wedding Vision
During his visit to Prayagraj on 21 January, reporters asked Gautam Adani whether his son’s wedding would be a “Maha Kumbh of celebrities,” as widely speculated. He responded by emphasizing that the wedding would not be an extravagant affair, stating, “We are like common people. Jeet came here to take Ma Ganga’s blessings. His marriage will happen simply and traditionally.”
