All 70 Assembly Constituencies of the National Capital Territory of Delhi went to polls today in a peaceful and festive atmosphere. With this, the voting in the Delhi Assembly Election concludes. However, all voters in the queue after the formal closing hours of polling at 6 PM were allowed to cast their vote, as per the Election Commission of India.
Delhi Assembly Elections Voter Turnout
Polling started at 7 AM, and continued till 6 PM, as per the Election Commission of India. The provisional Voter Turnout (VTR) as updated till 5 PM was 57.7 % at the polling stations. Moreover, the Election Commission also stated that all voters in the queue after formal closing hours of polling i.e. 6 PM are allowed to cast their vote.
The Northeast district in Delhi has the highest turnout at 5 pm, at 63.83%, and the Southeast district has the lowest turnout at 53.77%. As of 5 PM, Mustafabad AC has the highest turnout at 66.68%, Karol Bagh AC the lowest at 47.4%.
‘Battle between good and evil,’ Says Delhi CM Atishi
Delhi chief minister Atishi said, “The election in Kalkaji is not just an election; it is a battle between good and evil, a fight between progress and hooliganism. The love visible on the streets clearly shows that the public supports the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Arvind Kejriwal ji. The facilities provided by AAP, if taken away, will make it difficult for people to live in Delhi”, as the voting for the Delhi Assembly Election concludes.
