This budget is a force multiplier. It will increase savings, investment, consumption, and growth. I congratulate Smt Nirmala Sitharaman and her entire team for devising a people-centric budget,” he added.

PM Modi also pointed out that, unlike previous budgets focused on filling government coffers, this one is designed to benefit citizens directly. “Usually the focus of the budget is on how the government treasury will be filled, but this budget is exactly the opposite. How will this budget fill the pockets of the citizens of the country, how will the savings of the citizens of the country increase and how will the citizens of the country become development partners… this budget lays a firm foundation for this,” PM Modi remarked.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the reforms in India’s nuclear energy sector, calling the encouragement of private sector involvement “historic.” He emphasized that these steps would significantly contribute to the country’s development.

Modi also highlighted the importance of preserving India’s heritage. He introduced the “Gyan Bharat Mission,” aimed at preserving one crore manuscripts. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to balancing development with the preservation of cultural heritage.

In a move to boost domestic production and self-reliance, the Prime Minister announced the granting of infrastructure status to the shipbuilding sector. This designation is expected to create jobs, support Atma Nirbhar initiatives, and unlock tourism potential. Modi noted that shipbuilding offers substantial employment opportunities for the country.

Additionally, Modi introduced a scheme offering loans up to Rs 2 crore without guarantees for SC, ST, and women entrepreneurs. This initiative aims to empower underrepresented groups and support new businesses.

A major announcement in the budget also focused on Gig Workers. For the first time, they will be registered on the e-Shram portal, enabling access to health services and other benefits.

The Prime Minister further highlighted tax relief for middle-class citizens. Income up to Rs 12 lakh per year is now tax-free, with tax reductions across all income groups. Modi said the reforms would benefit the middle class and provide new opportunities for young workers.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting a “comprehensive” and “visionary” budget. He emphasized that the decision to exempt income tax for incomes up to Rs 12 lakh was a sign of Modi’s dedication to the middle class. Shah described the 2025 Budget as a blueprint for India’s growth in all sectors.
