Former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma expressed that the Maha Kumbh of Prayagraj, which occurs once every 144 years, has attracted global attention. The festival is a significant event in the religious calendar, drawing millions of devotees from around the world.
Dr. Sharma emphasized that the Maha Kumbh’s historical significance is tied to the Samudra Manthan, where drops of Amrit fell at locations like Prayagraj, Nasik, Haridwar, and Ujjain, leading to the tradition of Kumbh celebrations at these sites.
Maha Kumbh: A Source Of Spiritual Energy
Dr. Sharma explained that the Maha Kumbh is more than a religious event, it is a powerful source of spiritual energy. He acknowledged critics who claim that bathing in the Triveni during the Kumbh does not cleanse one of the sins.
However, he argued that the true power of the Kumbh lies in its ability to instil positivity and drive away negativity. He pointed out that during the Kumbh, numerous spiritual activities such as the Gita discourse, astrology conferences, and Ram Katha sessions take place, creating an atmosphere filled with devotion.
Dr. Sharma added that this holy environment helps participants absorb positive energy, which he referred to as the “washing away of sins.”
Uplifting Society Through Equal Access To Services
Dr Sharma also praised the Prime Minister’s efforts to ensure that every citizen receives essential public services, regardless of their background. He reiterated the importance of equal distribution of resources such as Ayushman cards and winter blankets. According to Dr. Sharma, public representatives must ensure that these basic facilities reach every citizen without discrimination.
He commended local leaders like Saket Sharma and councillor Sandeep Sharma for their dedicated work in public welfare, emphasizing that the nation will progress only when there is no room for divisions based on caste, class, or religion. He noted that when people come together without discrimination, the country will thrive.
Ram Janmabhoomi Movement And Unity Of People
Dr Sharma also reflected on the unity displayed during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, recalling the slogan, “Every child is Ram.” He shared memories of the movement when people from all walks of life contributed bricks for the Ram Mandir and actively participated in the Kar Seva.
The movement, he said, was marked by devotion to Lord Ram, and even in the face of adversity from authorities, the people’s resolve was unwavering.
