At least 18 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the central and northern Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources. Local eyewitnesses and sources reported that Israeli warplanes targeted an apartment in the multi-story “Yaffa” tower in the al-Nuseirat camp, located in central Gaza.
A statement from Al-Awda Hospital confirmed that eight people died in the attack, with 14 others wounded, some seriously. The hospital has reported a rising number of casualties as airstrikes continue to hit residential areas.
Casualties In Northern Gaza
In northern Gaza, Israeli shelling struck a house belonging to the “Khilla” family in the Jabalia Al-Balad area. Gaza’s Civil Defence confirmed that 10 people were killed in the attack, with several others injured. The situation in the area remains dire, with emergency teams working to rescue survivors and assist the wounded.

The Israeli army has not commented on the incidents in Gaza at this time, according to Xinhua news agency.
Hamas Suicide Attack In Jabalia
Meanwhile, on Friday, the military wing of Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for a suicide attack targeting an Israeli force in the Jabalia refugee camp, in northern Gaza. The attack reportedly involved six Israeli soldiers. The Israeli military has yet to release any official statement on the incident.
Israeli bombings killed at least 16 Palestinians in northern Gaza on Thursday, according to the Palestinian official news agency WAFA. The bombings targeted residential areas, including the Al-Najjar family’s house in Jabalia, where at least 10 people died.
In addition, Israeli airstrikes on the Al-Zaytouniya family’s house in the Al-Daraj neighborhood east of Gaza City killed six people. As of Friday, the total Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli airstrikes has reached 45,206, according to Gaza-based health authorities.

Israel’s large-scale offensive against Hamas in Gaza is a response to the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on southern Israel, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and the capture of 250 hostages. As the conflict continues, both sides report significant casualties, and efforts to reach a ceasefire remain stalled.
The international community continues to call for a resolution to the conflict, but the situation on the ground remains volatile, with no signs of immediate de-escalation.
