Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned the recent attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada, calling it a “deliberate act of violence.” In a post on X, PM Modi stated, “Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve.” He urged Canada to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law, condemning both the attack on the temple and the threats to Indian diplomats.
I strongly condemn the deliberate attack on a Hindu temple in Canada. Equally appalling are the cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats. Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve. We expect the Canadian government to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law.

MEA and High Commission Condemn Violence
Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed “deep concern” over the safety of Indian nationals in Canada following the violence by Khalistani extremists at Brampton’s Hindu Sabha Temple. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called on the Canadian government to ensure the security of places of worship. The Indian High Commission in Ottawa also condemned the disruptions caused by anti-India elements at consular camps in Brampton and elsewhere.
Hindu Leaders Restrict Political Use of Temples
Following Sunday’s attack, the Canadian National Council of Hindus (CNCH) and other Hindu advocacy groups announced that Hindu temples across Canada would restrict politicians from using temple platforms unless they take steps against the rising threat of Khalistani extremism. The CNCH stated that Hindu Canadians face an “increasing wave of violence” and demanded stronger security measures from Canadian political leaders.
The incident, which has drawn widespread condemnation, highlights concerns over the safety of Canada’s Hindu community and the need for decisive action to counter growing religious intolerance.
