This follows an earlier shipment sent on 22 October, which also weighed 30 tonnes and included a mix of medicines and food supplies.
The first consignment contained essential medical items, surgical supplies, dental products, and high-energy biscuits, all intended to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the ongoing conflict.
In addition to aid for Palestine, India has been active in addressing humanitarian needs in neighboring Lebanon, sending 11 tonnes of medical supplies on 18 October.
Plans are in place for a total of 33 tonnes of assistance to Lebanon in response to the intensifying conflict in the region.
India’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause is a cornerstone of its foreign policy.
The nation was the first non-Arab state to recognize the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1974, and it officially recognized the State of Palestine in 1988.
India also established a Representative Office in Gaza in 1996, which was later relocated to Ramallah in 2003.
As the humanitarian situation worsens, India’s assistance is particularly significant for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which faces financial challenges despite increasing demand for aid due to the ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), active since 1978, has recently renewed its mandate for another year, underlining the necessity of safeguarding its peacekeeping personnel amid rising violence in southern Lebanon.
