Legendary actor Mithun Chakraborty will receive this year’s prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the honor on Monday through a post on X.
He stated, “From the streets of Kolkata to cinematic heights, Mithun Da’s remarkable journey inspires generations! I am honored to announce that the Dadasaheb Phalke Selection Jury has decided to award legendary actor Sh. Mithun Chakraborty Ji for his iconic contribution to Indian cinema.”

The ceremony will take place at the 70th National Film Awards on October 8. This recognition highlights Chakraborty’s significant impact on Indian cinema over the years.
