An Israeli airstrike struck a bridge near the Matrabah crossing on the Syria-Lebanon border, injuring eight individuals, including four border-control policemen and four customs officers, according to media reports. The airstrike also caused significant damage to the bridge.
This incident marks the first Israeli military action in the Syrian border region following a recent escalation of operations in Lebanon that began on Monday, as reported by Xinhua news agency.

The Matrabah crossing, which connects the al-Qusayr region in Syria’s Homs province to Lebanon, has become a critical route for displaced Lebanese seeking refuge in Syria.
Lebanese military sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, reported that Israeli warplanes fired eight air-to-ground missiles at four border crossings in the Bekaa region. This attack destroyed a bridge and several ferries that facilitated movement between the Lebanese and Syrian sides. The sources did not specify the number of casualties resulting from the strikes.
The target crossings are primarily by residents from overlapping border villages, highlighting the impact of the conflict on local communities.
