Bengaluru police have dismantled a drug peddling network involving a Nigerian national and his Indian associate, seizing narcotics valued at over Rs 1.5 crore.
The operation was conducted by the anti-narcotics division of the Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB), which apprehended 41-year-old Michael Dike Okali and 25-year-old Sahana in Yarrappanahalli village, located in the Bengaluru Rural district. Authorities confiscated 1.5 grams of MDMA crystals, an electronic weighing scale, and three mobile phones during the raid.
Michael, who arrived in India on a business visa in 2018, initially rented a house in the K.R. Puram area, where he befriended his neighbor Sahana. He later allegedly introduced her to the drug trade. The duo moved to a residence in Balaji Layout, from which they continued their operations.

The CCB had previously cracked a drug trafficking case in July, resulting in the arrest of another individual and the seizure of four kilograms of MDMA. Information gathered from that case led investigators to Michael and Sahana’s network, culminating in their arrest.
While police had initially targeted Michael, they were surprised to find Sahana involved as well. Following preliminary investigations, she was also taken into custody. Michael had been previously booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in 2018.
Both accused have been presented before the court and are currently in judicial custody.
