Renowned wrestler Vinesh Phogat reaffirmed her solidarity with the farmers’ protest by joining them at the Shambhu border, declaring, “Your daughter is with you.” The farmers marked the 200th day of their ongoing protest on Saturday with a large gathering, where Phogat stood in unity with them.
The farmers have been stationed at the Shambhu border since February 13, after authorities blocked their march to Delhi. Their demands include a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops, among other critical issues.
Phogat, a respected figure in the sports community and a vocal supporter of the farmers’ movement, was warmly welcomed by the protesters, who honoured her with garlands.
During her address, Vinesh Phogat praised the farmers for their unwavering determination, noting that despite the long struggle, their energy and resolve remain undiminished.
“I am proud to have been born into a farmer’s family,” she said. “I want to tell you that your daughter is with you. We must stand up for our rights because no one else will do it for us. I pray that your demands are met, and you should not return home without securing your rights.”
Phogat also called on the government to heed the farmers’ demands, expressing disappointment that their voices have gone unheard for so long. She highlighted how the farmers’ persistence has become a source of inspiration for many.

“Farmers have been here for 200 days, fighting for their rights. I urge the government to fulfil their demands. It is disheartening that they have been ignored for so long. We draw strength from their resilience,” Phogat added.
Her primary message was clear: her support remains firmly with the farmers in their fight for justice.
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher emphasized that the protest, while peaceful, is marked by intense resolve. He pointed out that the Centre has yet to meet their demands, but the farmers’ determination remains strong.
“We will present our demands to the government once again, and new announcements will follow,” Pandher told India Today TV, marking the 200-day milestone as a significant moment in their protest.
The farmers have also called for strict action against Bollywood actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut, urging the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take a firm stance against her. Ranaut’s past remarks have stirred controversy and drawn opposition from the farming community.
Looking ahead, the farmers hinted at their plans to influence the upcoming Haryana polls, with announcements expected soon regarding their next steps. Their intention to play an active role in the state’s political landscape remains clear.
