Champai Soren criticizes Jharkhand Govrnment

Champai Soren, the former Jharkhand Chief Minister, will join the BJP on August 30. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced this news on August 27. Soren, a prominent JMM leader and Adivasi figure, recently met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Sarma shared the news on X, including a photo of Soren’s meeting with Shah.

Sarma expressed optimism about Soren’s decision, believing it will bolster the BJP. Sarma remarked that Soren’s joining the party would strengthen their position. He added that while it’s not appropriate for him to comment extensively, he welcomed Soren’s move.

Sarma also addressed Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s allegations. Hemant Soren claimed the BJP was attempting to split his party. Sarma countered this by stating that the BJP’s aim is to unite and serve the nation. He even jokingly said he would like to see Hemant Soren join the BJP as well.

Champai Soren had previously expressed his discontent with the JMM. On August 18, he revealed the mistreatment he faced within the party. He described being ignored and ridiculed, leading to his decision to step away from JMM.

Soren had briefly served as Jharkhand Chief Minister from February to July. His tenure was marred by controversies and internal party disputes. He was removed from his position after Hemant Soren’s release from jail, a move he found humiliating.

Soren had detailed his disillusionment in a post on X. He mentioned being excluded from key party meetings and having his decisions overturned by others in the party. This mistreatment made him consider his future options, including retiring from politics or forming a new party.

Rumors about Soren’s potential switch to the BJP intensified when he visited Delhi earlier this month with other JMM leaders. Although he initially said he was in Delhi for personal reasons, his drop of JMM from his X bio hinted at his changing political allegiance.

As Soren prepares to join the BJP, the political landscape in Jharkhand may shift, adding a new dynamic to the upcoming elections.
