Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani expressed his honor in hosting Lindy Cameron, the British High Commissioner to India, during a recent meeting. Adani shared his thoughts on the interaction in a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting Cameron’s insightful perspective on the ever-changing global landscape.

“Her sharp, insightful take on the ever-evolving global landscape is truly captivating!” Adani remarked. He also praised Cameron’s engagement with the second batch of Chevening-Adani AI scholarship recipients, who are preparing to study at leading universities in the UK. “The Adani Group is thrilled to support these brilliant minds as they help drive forward the AI ambitions for both India and the UK,” Adani added.
Earlier in May, Adani had another meeting with Cameron, during which he wished her success in further strengthening the relationship between India and the UK. He described the discussion as “fascinating,” covering a broad range of topics from Cameron’s global experience, including her work in Iraq and Afghanistan, to issues like cybersecurity and the future of nuclear energy. Adani expressed his best wishes for her role in enhancing India-UK relations.
Cameron, who succeeded Alex Ellis as British High Commissioner to India, is the first woman to hold this position. The Adani Group has been actively supporting educational initiatives, including offering up to five Chevening-Adani AI scholarships to Indian students pursuing degrees equivalent to a UK second-class honours degree. The Group aims to promote artificial intelligence and machine learning in India by supporting future leaders in the field.
In a statement, the Adani Group emphasized its commitment to transforming India into a global technology hub. “We want to lead the revolution that will transform India into the technology center of the world. This will be possible only if we help the next generation get a world-class education and use it to make the world a better place to live in,” the statement read.
The Adani Family has pledged over $7 billion towards developing education, healthcare, and skill development in rural India, as noted on the Chevening website.
