Israel airstrike hit Hezbollah

On Monday, Hezbollah launched a series of Katyusha rockets at a military base in northern Israel, escalating tensions in the region following Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah media sources reported that the rocket attacks hit the newly established headquarters of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) 146th Division in Gaaton.

The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that approximately 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon into the Western Galilee, with many landing in open fields near Kibbutz Kabri.

Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties from the attack.

The escalation follows an Israeli airstrike late Sunday on the village of Maaroub in southern Lebanon, which resulted in injuries to 12 civilians, including 11 Syrians and one Lebanese.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that two of the injured, a woman and a 5-month-old girl, are in critical condition.

The airstrike also caused significant damage to several homes in the village.

The recent violence marks a sharp increase in hostilities between the two sides.

Tensions have been high since an Israeli attack on Beirut’s southern suburbs on 30 July, which resulted in the death of senior Hezbollah military commander Fouad Shokor and seven others.

In response to these ongoing confrontations, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah has pledged a decisive and painful retaliation against Israeli actions.

As the situation continues to develop, the international community watches closely, concerned about the potential for further escalation and the impact on regional stability.
