The Enforcement Directorate filed a supplementary chargesheet in the Rouse Avenue Court against former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, and others in the land-for-job case. The court will hear the matter on August 13. The ED’s 1,000-page chargesheet names 11 accused, including Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. Previously, the CBI filed a final chargesheet in the Rouse Avenue Court, accusing 78 people, including 38 candidates and several officials.
On March 6, the CBI filed a third supplementary chargesheet, naming Bhola Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s secretary, as an accused. The CBI recovered evidence from Bhola Yadav’s computer, showing he managed tasks and directed officials on Lalu Prasad Yadav’s behalf. The CBI registered the case against Lalu Prasad Yadav and others. Including many family members who have since been granted bail. The court granted bail to several accused, including former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, RJD MP Misa Bharti, and Hema Yadav, in February.
The case dates back to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure as Railway Minister. Alleging jobs were exchanged for land at undervalued prices. Investigating agencies have scrutinized many of Lalu’s family members. The ED questioned Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav extensively.
