BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla has alleged that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi faced protests from local residents during his recent trip to Wayanad.

Poonawalla described Gandhi as a ‘reel leader’ confronted by the ‘real people’ of the region.

Poonawalla claimed that anticipating a backlash, Rahul Gandhi attempted to divert attention by posting about the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at 2 AM on X.

However, the people of Wayanad voiced their grievances directly to him.

In a video post on X Poonawalla alleged, “The residents of Wayanad voted for Rahul Gandhi and supported him during the elections, but he arrived like a VIP after many days. He did not even get out of his car to avoid getting dirty. The public questioned why he bothered to come if he wouldn’t step out.”

He further criticized Gandhi’s delayed response to the crisis, alleging that neither the Congress MP nor the Leftist state government acted against illegal constructions despite continuous warnings.

“More than three hundred people lost their lives due to the criminal negligence of the Leftist Government and the Congress party,” he stated.

Poonawalla accused Gandhi of visiting Wayanad solely for a photo opportunity, coining the term Leader of Photography to describe the Congress leader.

In addition to his criticism of Gandhi’s Wayanad visit, Poonawalla condemned a recent statement by a Tamil Nadu DMK minister questioning the existence of Lord Ram.

He claimed this revealed the anti-Hindu and anti-Ram stance of the INDIA bloc, questioning if Gandhi, who spoke about Lord Shiva in the Lok Sabha, would respond to this.

“However, Rahul Gandhi himself holds similar views about Hindus and Hindu gods. He consistently disrespects Hindus for the sake of the vote bank,” Poonawalla asserted in his video.
