UP BJP to get aggressive on Dalit issues

Keeping the shifting of Dalit votes to Congress in view, UP BJP will now adopt more aggressive stand on Dalit issues. Party resorted to this solution to counter opposition’s narrative.

In the recently concluded Lok Sabha election a large portion of Dalit vote drifted away from the BJP. Hence UP BJP has come to this as a solution, following the internal assessment.

Leader told to the media cell to be more aggressive during TV discussions and refute every opposition narrative with facts during a meeting of the party’s SC cell with national general secretary (organization) BL Santhosh held on Sunday evening.

In separate meetings, Santhosh conferred with notable leaders of the BJP’s SC Morcha and the media cell of the party. They also reviewed the party’s internal evaluation of the Lok Sabha elections, leaders found that Dalit voters, apart from Jatavs, who supported the BJP in the 2019 elections, had switched to the INDIA bloc this time.

Asim Arun, social welfare minister in the state government also put his opinion forward. He said, “In the meeting, it was discussed what else could be done for the deprived community. We were asked to give suggestions on this issue. The BJP is working for the deprived, but strategies are being prepared to also include those who are still excluded. The meeting discussed how they can be further improved.”

Santhosh also asked the SC Morcha. He asked Morcha to dispel the misconception spread by the opposition regarding reservation and change in the Constitution.

During campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, opposition used BJP’s slogan ‘Ab ki baar, 400 par’ to drive home the point that BJP would change the Constitution.

“Opposition is more offensive now and you (media cell) will have to counter every narrative  with facts,” BL Santhosh instructed.
