Mitra Van

The department will establish ‘Mitra Van’ along the borders of districts adjoining Nepal, including Sonauli in Maharajganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shravasti, Bahraich, and Pilibhit. Coordination with representatives from both Uttar Pradesh and neighboring states will ensure their involvement in the program.

Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Department, directed the 35 forest divisions to select locations for ‘Mitra Van’ and identify suitable plant species for dignitaries from Nepal and border states to plant. He also instructed coordination with Forest Department officials from neighboring regions to gather their input on species selection, ensure plant availability, and provide this information to the command center at the forest headquarters.

In addition to ‘Mitra Van,’ they will establish special forests like ‘Shakti Van,’ ‘Yuva Van,’ and ‘Bal Van’ in each district under the Abhiyan. The department has completed preparations for this initiative. Nurseries have prepared saplings for planting 35 crore trees.
