The Indian cricket team’s victory celebration will continue on Friday at the Vidhan Bhavan, where Captain Rohit Sharma and team members Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be honored. Speaker Rahul Narwekar confirmed that invitations have been sent to the players, who will also meet Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The Maharashtra Legislature has already passed resolutions congratulating the team on their ICC World Cup win. Shiv Sena legislator Pratap Sarnaik suggested the felicitation, highlighting that the four players are from Mumbai and it’s a proud moment for the city. Sarnaik requested that all legislators attend the function.

The state government aims to replicate the honors bestowed upon the team in 2007 and 2011. The felicitation ceremony will be a grand gesture to recognize the players’ outstanding performance. The event has been promptly arranged, and the players will be celebrated at Vidhan Bhavan on Friday.
This win marks India’s fourth World Cup title overall, following victories by Kapil Dev’s team in 1983, MS Dhoni’s squad in the 2007 T20 World Cup, and the ODI championship in 2011.
The team had a felicitation meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, reinforcing the national pride in their accomplishment. Subsequently, they departed for Mumbai, where festivities continued with a vibrant victory parade from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium, culminating in a ceremonial event to honor their triumph.
Despite the initial setbacks caused by adverse weather conditions, the resilience and spirit of the Indian cricket team prevailed, marking their return with jubilant celebrations and a warm reception from fans and dignitaries alike.
