CM Siddaramaiah Writes To PM For JD(S) MP’s Passport Cancellation Yet Again, Union Minister Responds

An SIT formed by the Karnataka government is investigating Prajwal Revanna and his father HD Revanna on charges of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation after a worker in their home filed a complaint.

Expressing objection over the Karnataka Chief Minister’s repeated writing to the Prime Minister for cancellation of the Diplomatic Passport of MP Prajwal Revanna, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said that there is an established procedure for cancellation of the passport.

Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaih has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi several times demanding the cancellation of the Diplomatic Passport of the prime accused of the sex videos case and absconding JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna.

“A petition has already been submitted to the court for the cancellation of the Diplomatic Passport. The central government is initiating action. There is a procedure to bring back those who have fled to foreign countries.,” Union Minister Joshi stated while speaking to reporters in Kalaburagi.

“The central government is ready to extend cooperation to the state government. If they expect the passport to be cancelled immediately after writing a letter, how is that possible?” Joshi added.

Joshi posed a question on the working of the state government saying that the accused left for a foreign nation on April 27 and that the pen drive related to the Prajwal Revanna case came to light on April 21. What was the government doing?

“The sex video scandal is a serious case. Prajwal Revanna should face the investigation. If he has committed offences, stern action needs to be taken. There is no question of sympathy for Prajwal Revanna at all,” Joshi clarified.
