The matter has now reached the Supreme Court. The petitioners have urged for an expedited hearing regarding the demand for swift action.

Responding to this urgency, Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud has instructed for an email submission. The court will deliberate on scheduling the hearing for the petition.

The petitioners emphasized the necessity to address this petition alongside others related to natural disasters in the state.

Multiple forest fires have engulfed many regions in Uttarakhand, prompting continuous joint operations by the Indian Air Force and the state Forest Department to douse the flames.

8 individuals attempting to ignite fires in the jungle have been apprehended.

The Nainital district administration has dispatched an NDRF team to Haldwani, poised to provide immediate assistance as required.

Efforts to extinguish fires are underway with urgency in various forest areas across Haldwani, Nainital, Champawat, and neighboring districts. Forest officials have disclosed this information.

In the past 24 hours, authorities have reported 8 new forest fires across the state, causing damage to approximately 11.75 hectares of land.

Since November 1 of the preceding year, authorities have recorded a staggering 575 forest fire incidents, resulting in the devastation of approximately 689.89 hectares of forest land across various regions.
