On Wednesday, a wildfire erupted in the Somasila forest area located in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district.
Efforts are underway to douse the blaze.
Experts suggest that several factors may have contributed to the recent increase in forest fire incidents in southern India regions.
These factors include high aridity, above-normal day temperatures, clear sky conditions, and calm winds.
These conditions are particularly prevalent during the early phase of the summer season.
The combination of these factors creates an environment conducive to the rapid spread of wildfire.
As a result, forest fire incidents have seen a sudden spike in these areas.
Meanwhile, visuals capturing the incident have emerged, vividly depicting a raging blaze engulfing the forest.

The Somasila Forest is renowned for its rich biodiversity and ecological significance. However, it now confronts a grave threat from the relentless flames.
Meanwhile in Uttarakhand forest fires continue to rage on, with 47 fresh incidents emerging in just a day. This led to the destruction of around 53 hectares of forest land.
As per reports, since the start of this fire season, the state has endured a total of 478 such incidents, devastating a whopping 571 hectares of precious forest.
Even though the Forest Department is working hard, controlling the fires is still tough.
To address the worsening situation, the Forest Department has set up a control room at its main office in Dehradun. They have provided contact details for reporting forest fires.
The concerned individuals can contact them by phone at 18001804141 or 01352744558, or via WhatsApp at 9389337488 and 7668304788.
Reports state that since Uttarakhand’s establishment in 2000, forest fires have caused substantial harm, devouring more than 54,800 hectares of valuable woodland.
