AAP leader Sanjay Singh
AAP leader Sanjay Singh launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding an alleged liquor scam, challenging the Delhi lieutenant governor to take action against BJP leaders. Singh, who is currently out on bail in a money laundering case related to the defunct excise policy, claimed that a money trail of ₹55 crore was traced to BJP’s account.
Singh referenced a donation made by Aurobindo Pharma, whose director and promoter Sarath Chandra Reddy was arrested in the same case, later turning approver and being granted bail. Addressing a gathering at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, Singh urged the L-G to act against BJP leaders, accusing them of involvement in the liquor scam.
Asserting the BJP as the most corrupt party in independent India, Singh ridiculed the “Modi ki guarantee” slogan, alleging that the Prime Minister guarantees protection to corrupt leaders who join his party. He listed individuals who switched to the BJP and then received reprieve from investigative agencies.

Singh, a member of the Rajya Sabha, dismissed the BJP’s demand for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation, stating that there’s no provision mandating the resignation of an honest Chief Minister falsely accused and imprisoned. He highlighted the difficulty AAP leaders have faced in obtaining bail over the past year.
At Jantar Mantar, top AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, staged a day-long fast to protest Kejriwal’s arrest. Similar demonstrations were held in various states and by Indian communities abroad, including in Boston, Los Angeles, Washington DC, New York Times Square, Toronto, London, and Melbourne. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann joined the fast at freedom fighter Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village, Khatkar Kalan.
Kejriwal remains in judicial custody until April 15.
