Moderate to heavy rains are expected to lash Delhi NCR
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for Delhi-NCR, indicating the likelihood of varying precipitation patterns and weather conditions in the region. According to IMD’s predictions, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated over the national capital on Friday evening, intensifying into heavy downpours within a few hours. Additionally, hailstorms and precipitation are expected to affect Delhi and its neighboring cities on March 29.
IMD’s official Twitter handle relayed the forecast, stating that thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall, with heavy rainfall in isolated areas, are expected over Delhi and adjoining regions of the National Capital Region (NCR). Gusty winds with speeds ranging between 40-60 km/h are also anticipated. Areas likely to be affected include Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh, Sohana, Palwal, and Nuh in Haryana, as well as Bhiwari in Rajasthan, over the next two hours.
Furthermore, the IMD cautioned about the possibility of hailstorms and precipitation in certain areas within Delhi and the NCR. Specifically, places such as Kanjhawala, Mundaka, Jafarpur, Nazafgarh, and Deramandi in Delhi, along with Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, and Manesar in the NCR, are expected to experience hailstorms and precipitation within the next hour. Similar weather conditions are also forecasted for Sohana in Haryana and Bhiwari in Rajasthan.
These forecasts indicate the need for residents and authorities in Delhi-NCR to remain vigilant and prepared for adverse weather conditions. It is advisable for individuals to take necessary precautions and stay updated with official weather advisories to ensure safety and minimize any potential disruptions caused by the anticipated weather phenomena.
