During a recent segment of the ‘AAP ki Adalat’ program on India TV, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conveyed his conviction that the people of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) are themselves advocating for integration with India, emphasizing his confidence in their eventual merger with the nation.
Responding to queries regarding Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent remarks on Kashmir, Singh questioned Pakistan’s ability to claim Kashmir, suggesting instead that they should focus on addressing issues within Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. He recalled his statement from a year and a half ago, predicting that the organic demand for a merger with India would negate the need for India to engage in aggressive actions.
When asked about potential strategies, Singh refrained from providing specific details, citing a need for discretion. However, he reiterated India’s commitment to refraining from initiating conflicts with other nations, highlighting India’s historical stance of non-aggression and non-occupation of foreign territories. Singh underscored the historical and ongoing claim over PoK, expressing confidence in its eventual integration with India.
Earlier in February, political activist Amjad Ayub Mirza from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) had asserted that residents were disillusioned with Pakistani governance and were expressing aspirations for merging with India. Mirza’s statements echoed sentiments expressed by Singh, emphasizing a grassroots demand for integration.

Addressing potential threats from China, Singh emphasized India’s preparedness to counter any aggression while maintaining diplomatic relations. He reassured that India’s growing strength and resilience positioned it as a formidable force on the global stage.
Singh also addressed allegations made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding Chinese incursions into Indian territory, expressing disappointment over the politicization of national security matters. He refrained from divulging specifics of ongoing discussions with China, emphasizing the need for diplomatic dialogue.
Furthermore, Singh highlighted India’s infrastructural developments along the India-China border, contrasting it with past hesitations under previous governments. He rejected insinuations of fearfulness attributed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that India’s leadership was resolute and unwavering in the face of external challenges.
