PM Narendra Modi Virtually Launches 15 Airport Projects from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made significant strides in airport infrastructure development during his recent visit to Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for 16 airport projects, including 12 new terminal buildings, Modi emphasized the transformative impact of these initiatives. He highlighted Azamgarh’s rising prominence, remarking on the shift of major events to the city from Delhi.

The total investment in these projects exceeds ₹9,800 crore, reflecting the government’s commitment to nationwide infrastructure enhancement. Modi urged people to view these developments beyond electoral considerations, underlining his vision to propel India towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

The newly inaugurated terminals are expected to handle a collective annual passenger traffic of 620 lakh. Additionally, the completion of three more terminals will further boost the combined passenger capacity to 95 lakh per year. These terminals boast modern amenities and incorporate sustainable features such as energy-efficient roofing systems and LED lighting. Furthermore, their designs draw inspiration from local heritage, reflecting the cultural and historical essence of the respective states and cities.
