The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, celebrated a triumphant moment as they concluded the five-match series against England with an impressive 4-1 margin. Their final Test victory, achieved in less than three days, showcased dominance over the visitors captained by Ben Stokes. With this win, India further solidified their position in the World Test Championship points table, extending their lead at the top to a 68.51 point percentage, having secured six wins in nine games. Conversely, England’s point percentage dwindled to 17.5, while the standings of other teams remained unchanged.

Following the victory, Rohit Sharma reflected on his Test career over the past two to three years during a conversation with Dinesh Karthik on Jio Cinema. Expressing his thoughts on retirement, Sharma emphasized his current peak performance and affirmed his commitment to playing his best cricket. He underscored a shift in focus from statistical achievements to fostering a culture of fearless and free-spirited cricket within the team. Sharma encouraged players to prioritize playing the game rather than obsessing over personal scores, stressing that success would naturally follow with a clear mindset and dedication to the sport.

Sharma also discussed India’s recent away Test series against South Africa, expressing disappointment at the limited number of matches played. Despite traditionally struggling in the initial Test matches, he praised the team’s ability to bounce back and perform well in subsequent matches, highlighting the resilience displayed by the younger players in the absence of senior members.
