PM Modi Unveils World's Longest Bi-Lane Tunnel
Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off his weekend with a thrilling jungle safari at Assam’s Kaziranga National Park, followed by the inauguration of the world’s longest bi-lane tunnel, the Sela Tunnel, in Arunachal Pradesh. Here are the highlights of this significant event:

1. PM Modi, who arrived in Assam the previous day, embarked on an exhilarating elephant safari in the Central Kohora Range of Kaziranga National Park, followed by a jeep safari accompanied by forest officials.
2. Reflecting on his experience, PM Modi shared his admiration for the lush greenery and rich biodiversity of Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its diverse flora and fauna, including the iconic one-horned rhinoceros.
3. Later in the day, PM Modi dedicated the Sela Tunnel to the nation at the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit North East’ program in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The tunnel, an engineering marvel constructed at a cost of approximately ₹825 crore, promises all-weather connectivity to Tawang via the challenging Sela pass, besides holding strategic significance for the country.
4. Taking a dig at the Congress, PM Modi highlighted their neglect of border areas and emphasized his government’s commitment to development. He promised to return to Sela in his third term, underscoring his dedication to transforming the region.
5. At the same event, PM Modi launched the UNNATI scheme worth ₹10,000 crore and inaugurated developmental projects worth ₹55,600 crore across Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh, showcasing his administration’s focus on holistic development.
6. Continuing his busy schedule, PM Modi unveiled the ‘Statue of Valour,’ a towering 125-foot tribute to the legendary Ahom general Lachit Barphukan, in Jorhat, demonstrating reverence for the region’s historical heroes.

7. PM Modi’s itinerary also included a visit to Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat district, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of developmental projects worth around ₹18,000 crore, underlining his commitment to infrastructure development.
8. From Arunachal Pradesh, PM Modi journeyed to Siliguri, West Bengal, where he participated in a public program in the evening, dedicating projects worth ₹4,500 crore to the state.
9. PM Modi concluded his day by arriving in his constituency, Varanasi, where he offered prayers at the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The following day, he attended a public program in the city, dedicating and laying the foundation stone for projects worth over ₹42,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh, showcasing his dedication to the welfare of his constituents.
