The Fortune Nutrition Project, overseen by Adani Wilmar in collaboration with the Adani Foundation, celebrated World Protein Day today in urban slums including Sudmapur, Lalpura, Koniya, Rajghat, Nakkighat, and Nevada in Varanasi. The initiative aimed to educate the community about the significance of protein while providing low-cost, nutritious food options.

Various protein-rich dishes, such as THR’s Barfi, Dhokla, Ulta, Chilla, Soybean Kebab, Soybean Paratha, and Sprouted Pulses Salad, were prepared and demonstrated, emphasizing their benefits for lactating mothers, pregnant women, and adolescent girls. Anganwadi Supervisor, Mrs. Punita Rai, representing the Women and Child Development Programme, elaborated on the advantages of a protein-rich diet. Dr. Ashutosh Banerjee shared insights into protein sources, while Nutrition Officer Mamta Yadav discussed the implications of protein deficiency and cooking techniques.

The event witnessed the participation of Assistant Nutrition Officer Sujata Yadav, Jugal Keshari, ANMs from the Health Department including Poonam Yadav and Mamta Pandey, as well as Anganwadi workers Maya Devi, Vandana, and Sushma Devi, along with nutrition associates Preeti, Soni, Renu, Abida, Pushpa Devi, Rita, Sarita Devi, Bindu Patel, Shabnam Begum, Reshma Kumari, and others.
