CM Hemant Soren
On Tuesday, at approximately 2 pm, Suraj Kumar, an employee from the CM Secretariat, delivered a letter from Chief Minister Hemant Soren to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office. The CM’s missive to the ED outlined his willingness to collaborate with the agency but urged for prior clarification on the reasons for summoning him.
The letter expressed the Chief Minister’s concern regarding the premature disclosure of summons to the media before reaching him, resulting in a prejudicial media trial. Hemant Soren emphasized the need for the ED to elucidate the purpose behind their summons, highlighting that he had unequivocally stated his position on all pertinent matters.
Furthermore, the communication reiterated the CM’s contention that the repeated summons by the ED were politically motivated, aimed at besmirching his reputation. He appealed to the agency to desist from taking any immediate action against him, citing the perceived bias and insistence on summoning despite his clear articulation of his stance.
In the letter, Hemant Soren requested the ED to refrain from initiating any action against him pending clarification on the reasons for the summons, emphasizing the purportedly politically motivated nature of the ongoing summonses.
