Nawaz Sharif Reflects on India's Lunar Success Amidst Pakistan's Internal Challenges

In a recent address to PML-N cadre in Islamabad, former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif acknowledged India’s advancements, stating that while neighboring countries have reached the moon, Pakistan has yet to rise from the ground. Sharif attributed Pakistan’s economic struggles to its own actions, emphasizing the need for change.

Highlighting his past achievements, Sharif mentioned addressing electricity load shedding, countering terrorism, restoring peace in Karachi, and initiating development through projects like CPEC in 2013. However, he acknowledged being ousted three times from power in 1993, 1999, and 2017, expressing self-criticism by stating, “We shot ourselves in our foot.”

Addressing the current crises, Sharif questioned who to blame, asserting that inflation was low during his tenure in 2014. He claimed that “fake cases” were registered against him and other PML-N leaders, with some convictions overturned by the Islamabad High Court.

Calling for women’s prioritization in development, Sharif stressed the importance of equal participation for national progress. Recently, he reiterated his call for accountability for those responsible for his 2017 ouster, stating that he has no interest in revenge but emphasized holding conspirators accountable.
